I agree all the way with you Quick. The parents should be involved with what their child is into. Not invasive to make the kids hide it, but INVOLVED with their kids.
Just so you know I'm not just blowing hot air. I am proud to say I'm 36 with a 10 yr old daughter that desperately wanted onto myspace. And when we explained why she could not, she let it go. We got her on another journal/blog site and let her have links to family and known friends only. We trust her and she trusts us. But, she knows we can check where she has been at any time.
I don't have a doubt that she, like all kids, will push the boundry once in a while. As for now everything is cool.
